Collective Owned and Operated Food Service Distribution Project
Now is the time to organize a local food movement created and operated by farmers. This farmer collective food service distribution project advocates for local metro farmers by organizing payment for farmer goods before they go to market, and placing their yields directly to the people and communities they serve. We operate as a buying club and organize sales and marketing efforts so the farmer can focus on farming.
By creating a small farmer focus group (FFG) of organic, sustainable farmers, we will identify cooperative producing requirements, marketing, and resource conservation; as well as identifying fair farmer pay considering the savings built into cooperative distribution and sales against the cost to produce, transport goods, and staff for logistics - good food data that can better arm farmers' negotiations in future efforts.
The mission is to form strategic collaborations with urban farmers to collectively grow and pool our harvests, thereby preserving farmer resources and guaranteeing payment for our planned produce units. The data identified in this planning phase will inform future producer and marketing cooperation among farmers in the southeast and other national metro/urban landscapes.
